How do I know if my child is zoned for Sparks Centennial Little League?
All Little Leagues have specific boundaries. Visit the Little League “League Finder” and enter your home address — it will tell you exactly which league you’re zoned for.
How is my child’s baseball or softball age determined?
We use the official Little League Age Calculator.
- ⚾️ Baseball: Age as of August 31 of the current season year.
Example: If your child turns six on July 3, their baseball age is 6, even if they start the season at 5. - 🥎 Softball: Age as of December 31 of the previous year.
How many times a week are games and practices?
Most teams meet 2–3 times per week for practices and games, each lasting about 90–120 minutes. There are no games on Sundays, but specific days vary by division.

Is there a softball Tee Ball for girls ages 4–6?
🥎 Softball begins at age 6 in Farm League.
⚾️ Baseball Tee Ball is co-ed, so girls and boys ages 4–6 are welcome to play together.
What’s included with registration?
Spring: Jersey, Hat (baseball only) and Sweatshirt**
Fall: Jersey and hat (baseball only)

What equipment do we need to buy?
Here’s the basics:
Baseball/softball glove or mitt
Cleats (no metal cleats at Golden Eagle!)
Baseball pants (color determined by team; check with your coach)
Bat
Batting helmet (Softball helmets must include a face cage – required in Minors, Majors, and Juniors)
Boys playing catcher in Farm, Minors, Main, or Majors must wear a protective cup
Gear bag
Batting gloves (optional)
Is my bat legal?

Does my child have to try out every year?
Yes — Spring seasons always include tryouts.
All players registering for Minors, Main, Majors, and Juniors will be entered into the appropriate Upper Division draft pool based on their League Age. This ensures players are placed in divisions that best match their skill level.
There are no tryouts for Fall seasons.
What is “Field Day”?
(Spring only)
Field Day is our annual community clean-up day, usually held the Saturday before tryouts or practices begin. Volunteers help prep the Shadow Mountain fields for the season — bring your rakes, shovels, and gloves!
Anchor Concrete donates equipment and manpower to help get the fields game-ready.
